There are two formulations of transfer factor products. The first contains just the transfer factor fractions we've mentioned, the inducer, antigen specific and suppressor fractions. The second generation product has had ingredients added that cause additional immune system stimulation.

People with a chronic illness such as fibromyalgia should consider beginning with the plain TRANSFER FACTOR™ product if getting involved in the fibromyalgia recovery program for the first month. Here is why. When re-establishing immune function in a person with a dysfunctional immune system, one can precipitate what is called a Herxheimer's reaction, more commonly called a "healing crisis". This occurs because as the immune system becomes more functional, it begins once again to have the ability to remove damaged and dead cells that are full of toxins.
